FOLLICULAR UNIT EXTRACTION (FUE)
IN BEVERLY HILLS, CA
Everyone deals with hair loss in their own unique way. For some, it can be incredibly stressful or embarrassing, oftentimes negatively affecting one’s normal way of life. Crown Hair Institute would like to help change that. Our goal is to not only restore our patients’ hair, but their confidence. We want to help our patients in their hair restoration journey by both establishing and maintaining hair growth using the most up to date medical and surgical methods available.
One of our most sought after treatments for hair loss is a procedure called FUE. This procedure is designed to provide the best combination: hair restoration and virtually undetectable scars. Hair restoration surgery like this allows us to slow down the natural process of hair loss, and help return you to a more youthful version of yourself with thicker, fuller hair.
"Father Time is undefeated, our goal is to slow him down a bit when it comes to hair loss.”

WHAT IS FUE?
FUE (follicular unit extraction) is one of the most minimally invasive surgical hair restoration procedures. Follicular units are defined as 1-4 individual hairs with the follicle still attached. In an FUE procedure, the first step is extraction. This is done using a very tiny, round surgical punch to individually extract follicular units, or hair grafts, from an area of the head that has healthy hair which is typically the back of the head.
Once those hair grafts have been extracted our expertly trained doctors will sort them, finding the best grafts for each area that they will be transplanted into. This step is crucial because this is what leaves our patients with the most natural results. Once the grafts have been sorted, they are then transplanted into the thinning or balding area of the head which is called the recipient area. These grafts are placed with excellent technique making sure that the angle at which they are placed reflects the way the natural hair would grow. FUE is a great option for those who like to wear their hair shorter due to any scars being virtually undetectable.

FAQs For FUE In Beverly Hills
What can I expect on the day of surgery?
The day of surgery will begin early. Ideally you will arrive at the clinic by 7 AM. No hair products should be placed in the hair the morning of surgery. The procedure will begin with your hair being pulled back to expose the donor area which will be marked and shaved. The remaining hair surrounding the donor area is left intact. Monitoring equipment will be placed on both the recipient site (balding area to be transplanted) and the donor area (back of the head) will be injected with numbing medication. The procedure is separated into two phases, graft harvesting, and graft implantation. Lunch will usually happen between graft harvesting and graft implantation. The entire procedure should take around 8 hrs, and is typically complete in the early afternoon.
What is recovery like?
You may feel a little sleepy or groggy after your procedure so make sure someone is available to pick you up from the clinic to take you back home or to your hotel. Clear instructions will be relayed to both you and your care-giver about appropriate medications to take after surgery.
What is the follow-up process after treatment?
The day after your surgery you will come in for a follow up to ensure that your pain is very minimal and that the grafts are healing properly. One week after your procedure you will be seen again to gauge your recovery, and then again at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and finally 1 year. We will support you in every step of your patient journey in order to give you the best possible results.
Will I have visible scarring after FUE?
In contrast to FUT, with FUE there is no strip removed and instead, each follicle is removed with a tiny round surgical punch. This means that there is no linear scar and patients are usually free to cut their hair as short as they wish. While some scarring can occur, it is virtually undetectable.
