DR. ROBERT DRUMMOND
Dr. Drummond is an expert hair transplant surgeon with a strong background in hair science, having an M.D. and Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Medicine. His superior understanding of the science involved in hair loss down to the molecular and cellular levels allow him to craft the best possible treatment plans for all forms of hair loss and beautifully restore his patients’ hair. Dr. Drummond is committed to helping his patients regain their confidence through the art of hair restoration.
Dr. Drummond’s passion for science at a young age led him to Morehouse College in Atlanta GA, where he received his B.S. in Biology. While at Morehouse, Dr. Drummond developed a passion for medical research, and in 2002 he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He then entered the Medical Scientist Training Program at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. It was at Johns Hopkins that he received both his M.D. and his Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Medicine. After completing an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at LAC+USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, Dr. Drummond finalized his training with a postdoctoral research fellowship at UCLA.
Dr. Drummond’s interests and training have led to a wide range of experiences in medicine. He is a former Captain in the California US Army National Guard where he served as the battalion physician, and he also served as the Regional Lead Physician and Director of Laboratories for Urgent care with OPTUM Medical Group.
Dr. Drummond has learned from and trained under international leaders in the hair restoration field and utilizes his past research in inflammation and immunology in his approach to hair restoration.
Dr. Drummond is thoroughly dedicated to equality in healthcare for all patients. He understands the complexities that exist when treating hair loss in all hair types and uses the most scientific approach, often combining medicine and surgery to achieve the best outcome.
DR. CARL TRUESDALE
Dr. Carl M. Truesdale is an otolaryngologist (Head and Neck Surgeon), and facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. His advanced knowledge of hair restoration, facial anatomy, and his artist’s eye enable him to deliver natural-looking results for all hair restoration procedures.
Dr. Truesdale’s life-long passions for medicine, culture, and the arts led him to double major in Biology and Spanish at Morehouse College, where he graduated summa cum laude. He then earned his M.D. at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, one of the top three medical schools in the United States.
Dr. Truesdale completed five years of specialized surgery training in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the top-ranked University of Michigan. During residency, he completed a surgical mission to Ghana where he taught surgical techniques, lectured, and performed life-saving procedures.
Dr. Truesdale continued his training by specializing in facial plastic surgery, and completed a facial plastic surgery fellowship in Beverly Hills, CA. He began building his facial plastic surgery practice as a fellow, and decided to plant roots in the Los Angeles area long-term. While exploring his passion for hair restoration he and Dr. Drummond created the Crown Hair Institute in order to address the complexities that come with treating hair loss in all hair types.
